The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tile installation and a passion for delivering high-quality, artisan level workmanship. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing various types of tiles in residential and commercial settings throughout the Lowcountry area, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and exceeds client expectations. Other duties may include working alongside experienced masons to help set stone pavers.

Duties:

Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas, ensuring precise alignment and spacing. Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives. Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces using appropriate techniques and materials. Grout tiles after installation to create a finished look while ensuring durability. Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and masons, to complete projects efficiently. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including power tools used for cutting and shaping tiles. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment on job sites.

Skills:

Proficiency in tile setting is required, and with masonry work is highly desirable. Ability to fabricate custom tile designs as needed for unique installations. Familiarity with stucco applications is a plus. Strong knowledge of using power tools safely and effectively. Capability to plumb surfaces accurately to ensure proper tile alignment. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
