Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.
The Business Continuity Risk Associate supports the organization’s business continuity planning, crisis management, and recovery readiness. Provides leadership in coordinating, assessing, developing and communicating recovery requirements and contingency plans associated with the company’s business units to protect the firm in the event of an unforeseen disruption. The Business Continuity Risk Associate will drive the maturity of business continuity plans and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and testing of Business Continuity Plans across departments.
Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA), facilitate responses and remediation of gaps identified.
Provide direct communications between the BCP Office, technology teams, business units and support organizations.
Design and facilitate crisis management exercises, and tabletop simulations including after action reviews and reports.
Develop training material and conduct business continuity training and awareness workshops.
Maintain documentation, program metrics, dashboards, and reporting for leadership and audit.
Align continuity processes with regulatory guidance and continuous improvement of program.
Work with large amounts of data and perform complicated analysis to identify insights.
Staff Management – Manages the recruitment, training, and development process for staff. Provides guidance and education in Risk ID, Assessment, and Measurement techniques. Provides day-to-day management of ERM and ORM staff including accountability for ensuring work product quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of experience in Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk, and Project Management or Internal/External Consulting.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk, and Project Management or Internal/External Consulting.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Risk Management or related field.
License or Certification Type:
Business continuity certifications from a recognized professional body e.g.
DRII CBCP.
Preferred qualifications:
Large Financial Institution (LFI) experience.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in Business Continuity or Crisis Management.
Solid understanding of continuity planning lifecycle, regulatory expectations and
FFIEC IT BCM
Handbook.
Strong data analytical skills using MS Excel and presentation skills using PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and engage with business and stakeholders at different levels.
Experience with continuity planning tools or platforms such as Fusion Risk Management.
Knowledgeable about disaster recovery, information technology systems and data center recovery.
Knowledge of risk techniques, practices, and control frameworks.
Knowledge of various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes.
Ability to work effectively with associates, senior management, and various committees.
Knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise risk and operational risk.
