WORKING TITLE

Correctional Services Consultant – Release Management This internal advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Admission & Release. As a member of the Admission and Release team, our mission is to ensure a seamless and efficient process for admitting and releasing individuals in our care. We are dedicated to maintaining accurate records, adhering to legal standards, and providing respectful and compassionate support throughout the process. Our goal is to facilitate smooth transitions and uphold the integrity and safety of our system. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES

This position works under the direction of the Correctional Program Administrator, Release Management. Specific duties assigned to this position include, but are not limited to the following: Play a key role in preparing reports, tracking projects, developing policies and procedures, planning activities, and creating training presentations for the Sexually Violent Predator Program. Process inmates within statutory time frames under the Sexually Violent Predator Program, ensuring all necessary steps are followed for those in the Department’s custody. Coordinate inmate releases by determining eligibility and identifying applicable offenses, preparing information packets for the Department of Children and Family and the state attorney’s office, and monitoring their recommendations. Facilitate face-to-face psychological evaluations with inmates, coordinate with state attorney offices for warrants, and arrange inmate transfers to specified detention sites. Develop and deliver engaging presentations and training materials for staff, keeping them updated on policy changes, new programs, legislative issues, and other mandates affecting Release Management and the Sexually Violent Predator Program Unit.

Four (4) or more years of release management, sentence structure or classification experience. Certified to use the

NCIC/FCIC

systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Willing to be flexible with your work schedule to meet the requirements of processing immediate releases. Experience determining eligibility pursuant to the Sexually Violent Predators Act. Experience providing training or preparing training materials. Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
