•Assistant Public Records Custodian This advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in the Office of Administration in the Public Records Unit.

$44,060.11•$51,988.25 Annual Range

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and supervise assigned staff, including setting performance expectations, motivating for peak performance, providing training, planning work assignments, and evaluating performance. Oversee the progress and quality of staff work, conduct regular and annual performance reviews, and ensure consistency in work products. Receive, log, review, and assign public record requests, prioritize document reviews, and process requests based on urgency, consulting with supervisors as needed. Communicate with department employees to determine legal exemptions for public records, respond to inquiries about agency rules and policies, and ensure accurate and timely submission of email searches and document conversions. Review and implement administrative policies and procedures, identify and address potential problems, and participate in special projects and other assigned duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of experience processing criminal history records, HIPAA or Freedom of Information Act public records requests. One (1) or more years of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) or more years of experience using online software for management of public records. Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
