Questions General Description
JOIN OUR TEAM AS A BUSINESS ANALYST!
The Business Analyst performs a full range of professional and technical duties in support of the Development Services Branch. Assists in activities to include projects, contracts, grants, and financial information. Maintains data analyzes of business trends and serves as a resource for tracking measures regarding department performance. Essential Job Functions Develops and analyzes financial and statistical information for accuracy and regulatory requirements.
Searches, analyzes, develops, and implements procedures related to projects, contracts, grants, and various agreements.
Researches and analyzes cost performance data and makes recommendations to improve operations.
Provides support for the procurement process.
Ensures statutory and regulatory compliance with grant and contract requirements.
Assists or provides input for the formulation, development and revision of policies and procedures related to contracts, grants, and financial data.
Ensures compliance with County policies and procedures applicable to contracting and grant management.
Prepares project plans, presentations, board documents and other deliverables as assigned.
Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) regulation, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
Ability to review, negotiate, and resolve discrepancies related to contracts.
Ability to provide guidance and leadership to staff in area of contracts, grants, and other financial information.
Ability to assess contract and grant compliance.
Knowledge of principles and methods of data collection and statistical analysis.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and make recommendations.
Knowledge of computer operations; preferred proficiency with Microsoft Office based applications and Tyler Munis.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and perform analyses including the use of pivot tables and formulas.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, outside agencies, and other departments.
Ability to prioritize work and coordinate multiple high-priority tasks within limited time constraints. Minimum Requirements
PHYSICAL SKILLS
The ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written or visual communication. Ability to operate computers, phones and general office equipment.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance or related field. Four (4) years of experience in a position that involved financial planning and analysis (FP&A), contracts, grants, procurement procedures, and statistical analysis required.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
