JOB SUMMARY

As a BusinessAnalyst in Capstone Logistics’ IT Services organization you will beworking in a very challenging and rewarding role performingBusiness Analysis duties. You will have the opportunity to workwith teams of professionals implementing solutions to supportmultiple business service lines. These solutions are core toCapstone Logistics’ business strategy and will leverage the latesttechnologies in analytics, cloud computing, engagement teamcollaboration and knowledge sharing. When performing BusinessAnalyst duties, the BA is primarily responsible for the elicitationof technical and functional requirements, properly documentingthese as user stories/features/epics, and supporting theprioritization of these items. Other expected functions of the rolewill require a BA to conduct variance analysis, reporting, andcreate flow diagrams/mockups. This is not an extensive list, but itfocuses on the main needs for the candidate. The ideal candidatewill be an effective collaborator who can lead requirementelicitation sessions successfully and properly manage a productbacklog. This is a high-impact, highly visible role that requires apersonable, creative, analytical, results-oriented, and organizedleader. There will be some onsite presence required, and we willwork with the candidate ahead of time to make the properarrangements for onsite visits.

Business Analyst JobResponsibilities:

The BA is responsible for engaging withinternal/external clients to properly define and document thestakeholder requirements The BA will work to create properlydocumented Epics/features/user stories for project requirements andgain stakeholder approval to begin development work The BA willschedule relevant project events and ceremonies, includingrefinement and grooming ceremonies The BA role is responsible forcreating, maintaining, and grooming Epics/features/user storieswith Acceptance Criteria The BA will work with teams that aregeographically dispersed and comprised of all disciplines requiredto deliver IT solutions for our customers, including architects,application engineers, quality assurance & testers. Planning for,monitoring and managing change through formal change managementprocesses and stakeholder/customer relationship managementincluding reporting on variances to the approved baselinerequirements and managing the approval or mitigation of these asappropriate Work with Developers and QA to provide additionalinformation required for development and testing Communicating withproject teams, management, customers and stakeholders Coaching andmentoring both customers, vendors and team members in deliveryfundamentals and the benefits to successful requirements gatheringand delivery Proactively identify risks and issues with scope creepitems Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / JOB REQUIREMENTS

Strong analytical andplanning skills/experience with software development projects. Joincritical onsite meetings that require in person presence Theseshould be minimal and management to provide enough heads up toproperly plan travel Experience with applying and general knowledgeof various analysis and gathering approaches, methodologies andmodels. Business Analysis certification is preferred but notrequired (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, CBATL) Experience in data gathering andfacilitation techniques (i.e. meetings and JAD sessions).Experience with requirements management, use case and modelingtools. Strong management skills with software development projects.

Leadership and management skills in leading technical personnelthrough the delivery of software development projects. Strongbusiness and systems analysis skills, test planning and testingskills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerousenvironments and architectures. Ability to apply common,object-oriented modeling techniques, including UML, use case,activity and sequence diagrams.
