Overview Under limited supervision, provides business analysis, analytical,and software testing support to the corporate user base. Worksclosely with ITS personnel and business users in the developmentand implementation of information technology initiatives thatsupport the strategic objectives of the Corporation. Assists thebusiness users with analyzing business needs, developing detailedrequirements and validating solutions. Provides an effectiveliaison between the business departments and other ITS personnel orexternal vendors providing software services. This classification is distinguished from the Business Analyst jobclassification by the years of professional experience as well asincreased scope, variety and complexity of work assignments,application analysis and leadership responsibilities. This positionalso has the responsibility for mentoring Business Analysts andsupporting them in project management activities. Major Areas of Accountability Documents information requirements and needs of informationtechnology initiatives. Evaluates business objectives that require new systems orenhancements to existing systems. Provides analytical support to business users and other ITSpersonnel to both determine specific problem areas and identifypossible solutions. Defines work processes and plans and/or actions to be performedafter discussing with user management. Develop and utilize a structured process for the design,development, testing and deployment of all corporate systems. Defines with software developers the architectural elements tomeet user requirements. Develops and documents test procedures and/or test scripts fornew systems or changes to existing systems. Develops training requirements for the delivery of all systemprojects to include “train the trainer” requirements and thenecessary training materials. Continues professional development through attendance attraining sessions and professional seminars to incorporate recenttechnical developments into work unit operations. Reviews and studies instructional and informational material toenhance/increase knowledgebase of systems and procedures within thework unit. Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type asrequired. Mentors Business Analysts in ITS procedures and businessprocesses and procedures. Develops information systems strategies with business users,defines business objectives, and identifies cost/benefit impact tothe company of proposed projects Provides recommendations to management on optimized businessflows and software solutions. Provides project management support on large, complex,strategic initiatives.
