Humacyte, Inc. is bringing to market a once in a generation scientific technology platform, bioengineering readily available and universally implantable product opportunities focused on improving lives of patients and transforming the practice of medicine. Located in Durham, North Carolina, the company develops and manufactures acellular tissues that are grown from large, established cell banks of primary human cells. The engineered tissues have been evaluated for the treatment of diseases and conditions across a wide range of therapeutic areas. Humacyte’s initial opportunity, a portfolio of Acellular Tissue Engineered Vessel (ATEVs), is currently approved for use in vascular trauma repair and is in late-stage clinical trials targeting multiple other applications including AV access for hemodialysis, and peripheral arterial disease. Preclinical development is also underway in coronary artery bypass graft; pediatric heart surgery; treatment of type 1 diabetes; and multiple novel cell and tissue applications. Humacyte’s 6mm ATEV for AV access in hemodialysis was the first product candidate to receive the FDA’s Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) designation and has also received FDA Fast Track designation. POSITION BACKGROUND

The EVP, Enterprise Planning & Analysis is a newly developed position and will be a pivotal member of the Humacyte executive leadership team and will be responsible for helping to define, communicate and execute the company’s strategy and vision. Maintaining outstanding relationships within the company will be key to success in this position. The appropriate individual will take a holistic view of the enterprise and ensure alignment across departments to support superior decision making. This position will also act as a key advisor and thought partner to the CEO, acting as a “force multiplier” to the CEO by spearheading and advancing critical enterprise-wide projects.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure Alignment between different departments, including business objectives, resource planning, and operational strategies. Incorporate Holistic Enterprise view ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s performance by integrating data from various departments. Provide Decision support enabling the CEO and other members of HLT to make informed decisions by providing insights into Financial performance, operational trends, governmental trends, and cross-functional risks. Leverage Data integration by consolidating data from different sources, making it easier to analyze and guide sound decisions. Develop Extended Planning and Analysis via strong partnerships with the CEO, CFO, Commercial and Finance teams to develop a more robust and Finance-driven planning solution that connects the entire business to Finance, going beyond traditional supply chain and operations. Demonstrate Outstanding Business Planning & Analysis by developing strong collaborative efforts that foster strategic, analytical, and Financial insights to drive business decisions. Lead Federal Government Liaising and Advisory Activities by ensuring that the leadership team has visibility into relevant legislative, regulatory, and political developments and that these factors are anticipated and effectively incorporated into company strategy and decision-making. Act as primary point of contact with contract lobbyists and consultants to streamline and maximize deployment of those resources in this area, including management and oversight of consultants. As appropriate, oversee political/policy engagement strategies, including participation in industry coalitions and trade associations. Manage Reputational/Communications Risks by overseeing/coordinating and leading development of crisis management and rapid response strategies.

REQUIRED SKILLS

A university degree is required, and a minimum of 15 years of full-time work experience, preferably in biotech, government or business analysis is mandatory. Demonstrated leadership experience in a Financial and business planning function A minimum of 10 years’ experience serving at an executive level of leadership. Proven ability to assess risks and develop and implement sound solutions that positively impact the business. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to support the CEO as a “force multiplier” who can execute on complex, challenging, and cross-disciplinary projects along with other leaders in the organization. A proactive, results-oriented leader with strong negotiation skills. Possesses a positive attitude and optimistic outlook. Motivated and organized critical thinker with outstanding interpersonal and business communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team to set goals, develop sound project plans, monitor progress, and report results. Routinely communicate and present Findings and information to other team members and to the CEO transparency and knowledge sharing is expected and practiced. Basic computer skills required, such as knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams and other business systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work with members and leaders from a variety of teams on complex and challenging projects.
