Purpose of the Job The IT Business Analyst will play apivotal role in supporting and advancing the technologicalinfrastructure and systems within the credit union. This individualwill act as the bridge between IT and various business units,identifying and analyzing requirements, streamlining operations,and implementing technology solutions that align with businessgoals. The IT Business Analyst will ensure systems and processesare efficient, secure, and provide optimal value to theorganization and its members. Essential Functions andResponsibilities Collaborates with business units to gather anddocument detailed business and technical requirements. Analyzesbusiness processes to identify and propose improvements thatenhance system efficiency, member experience, and staffproductivity. Translates business requirements into functionalspecifications for IT teams and vendors. Works withcross-functional teams to design, test, and implement technologysolutions aligned with credit union standards and goals. Developsand maintains project documentation, including requirementsspecifications, process flows, user stories, and test plans.
Assists in selecting and evaluating software and vendors thatsupport credit union needs, assessing costs, benefits, andtechnical feasibility. Works with the project team to define thetesting scope, objectives, and acceptance criteria for the projectDevelops or review requirement traceability matrices to ensure allrequirements are addressed in testing. Creates or assists increating UAT scripts and test scenarios that reflect real-worldbusiness processes. Coordinates UAT sessions with businessstakeholders, ensuring they understand their role in validatingsystem functionality. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolvessystem issues in collaboration with IT support teams. Conducts rootcause analysis for recurring system issues and propose long-termsolutions to prevent future disruptions. Supports projectmanagement activities, including planning, scheduling, andcoordinating resources to ensure project milestones are met on timeand within scope. Works closely with vendors and externalconsultants to manage implementation timelines, deliverables, andsystem integrations. Raises concerns promptly and collaborate withteam members to develop actionable solutions. Communicates projectprogress and challenges to stakeholders, facilitating resolutionsas needed. Ensures systems and processes comply with regulatorystandards, including data security and privacy requirements.
Supports audits by documenting and validating systems and processesto ensure adherence to policies. Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists with other tasks and projects as assigned. Timely loggingof time spent on project and task work. Knowledge, Skills, andAbilities Must have a strong understanding of business processes,particularly within a credit union or financial institutioncontext. Must be proficient in business analysis methodologies,tools, and techniques (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, JIRA). Must haveexcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinkingskills. Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills,with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technicalstakeholders. Must have strong project management andorganizational abilities, with attention to detail. Must befamiliar with data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI. Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellentservice to Truliant’s members, both internal and external. PhysicalRequirements Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stoopingrequired Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time anduse a computer Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds Education andBackground Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, inInformation Technology, Business Administration, or a related fieldrequired. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an IT BusinessAnalyst required; IT Business Analyst experience within thefinancial services or credit union sector preferred. Hands-onexperience with core credit union or banking systems and financialsoftware preferred. Workday experience is preferred. Certificationin Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Project Management (e.g., PMP)is a plus. Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting creditunions, including data privacy and security standards preferred.
