What You’ll Do
This leadership role will drive the development of global and regional access strategies, pricing models, payer insights, and value communication frameworks to support pharmaceutical and biotech clients from early clinical phases through launch and beyond. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in market access, pricing, and reimbursement, and will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure strategic recommendations are grounded in evidence and optimized for payer and HTA requirements.
Strategic Leadership & Practice Development
Shape and evolve RTI HS’s global market access and pricing strategy offerings, with a particular focus on European payer systems, HTA requirements, and value communication frameworks
Lead the development and delivery of innovative tools and methodologies such as EU pricing models, global access playbooks, and cross-market value frameworks to address client needs across the product lifecycle, from early development through to post-launch
Strengthen and expand capabilities in payer insights, competitive access landscaping, pricing and reimbursement research, and value proposition development, ensuring integrated, end-to-end support for clients from early asset strategy through to HTA submission and lifecycle management
Drive thought leadership initiatives to position RTI HS as a recognised authority in global market access, with a strong presence in European pricing policy, payer engagement, and access innovation
Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the practice delivers high-quality, scientifically robust, and forward-looking solutions tailored to both global and regional market access challenges
Work in close partnership with RTI HS executive leadership to align the growth of the practice with the organisation’s broader commercial, scientific, and strategic goals
Client Engagement & Delivery
Serve as the senior strategic partner for key clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and MedTech sectors, across both EU and U.S. markets.
Lead complex, cross-functional market access engagements—ensuring high-impact, regionally tailored strategies that address pricing, reimbursement, and policy dynamics.
Translate nuanced market access challenges into actionable, evidence-informed strategies, particularly for European HTA submissions, pricing negotiations, and early value assessment.
Guide the development of differentiated value messages and access strategies that resonate with payers, regulators, clinicians, and patient advocacy groups.
Provide strategic insights and communications support across stakeholder audiences, including for AMCP dossiers (U.S.) and HTA/value dossiers
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with RTI HS’s Evidence Synthesis, HEOR, and RWE teams to align evidence generation with evolving EU and U.S. payer expectations.
Translate strategic market access objectives into actionable evidence generation plans and submission strategies that are responsive to both EU HTA agency requirements and U.S. payer needs.
Act as the strategic bridge between value definition and evidence delivery driving alignment, coordination, and execution across functions to ensure strategy is not only defined but realized in-market.
Business Development
Lead and actively participate in business development efforts in close collaboration with our BD teams and Strategic Client Engagement Teams, including identification of new opportunities, client meetings, and proposal development.
Contribute to the RTI HS’s growth strategy by shaping new offerings and expanding the client base across therapeutic areas and geographies.
Identify strategic opportunities and work cross-functionally to bring them to market, especially in areas like launch sequencing, value story creation, and payer intelligence solutions.
Operational Excellence & Scientific Credibility
Ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with SOPs and industry best practices.
Represent RTI-HS at conferences and in professional forums.
Support staff in publishing, presenting, and building industry presence.
Team Leadership & Development
Mentor, support, and guide staff to grow expertise in market access, pricing strategy, and client delivery.
Review and provide feedback on project work, acting as both quality controller and capability builder.
Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, high morale, and performance excellence.
Lead performance management, promotion planning, and succession processes.
Ensure the team has the right resources and skill sets to meet current and future business demands.
Project Leadership
Lead and contribute to core deliverables, including:
Global and regional pricing strategy development
Payer intelligence and stakeholder mapping
Launch strategies and sequencing
Value proposition and narrative design, strategic input into global value dossiers (GVD), Target Product Profile, etc.
Collaborate with our Evidence Synthesis and Reporting team to ensure Health Technology Assessment (HTA) readiness and submission planning.
Provide strategic guidance while also ensuring excellence in execution across multiple engagements.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, health economics, public health, pharmacy, or a related field and 20 years of directly related experience, or;
Master’s level degree in life sciences, health economics, public health, pharmacy, or a related field and 16 years of directly related experience, or;
PhD in life sciences, health economics, public health, pharmacy, or a related field and 12 years of directly related experience
At least 10 years of experience in market access, pricing strategy, or health economics within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or consultancy sectors.
Proven track record of leading and delivering successful European HTA submissions and pricing strategies, including preparation of value dossiers, payer negotiations, and engagement with bodies such as NICE, G-BA, and HAS. Demonstrable experience collaborating with U.S. payers and contributing to AMCP dossiers or similar access strategies is an advantage.
Demonstrated success engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders, including clinicians, patient advocacy groups, regulators, payers, and HTA bodies across multiple markets.
Proven strategic leadership, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration experience across evidence generation, payer strategy, and value communication.
Demonstrated success leading high-impact projects and teams, developing go-to-market strategies, and supporting global and regional launches.
