About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer who will serve as the BCM for Digital, Technology & Innovation responsible for Generative AI and Model Risk.   • Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business-specific risks across different business lines. Impact Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report the impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function. Enterprise Risk Leadership
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as a strong understanding of financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, and business process management.   • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for highly complex risks associated with business operations. Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead and mentor Control Management project or virtual teams to ensure effective execution and knowledge sharing. Cross-Functional Engagement
  • Engage with all levels of roles across the business group and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements. Challenging the Status Quo
  • Challenge the status quo and think outside of the box to deliver innovative solutions while not compromising MRA (Matters Requiring Attention) or regulatory commitments. Governance & Accountability
  • Identify and establish governance processes and accountability structures to ensure compliance with WFT (Wells Fargo Technology) policies. Risk & Governance Partnership
  • Partner with lines of defense, Operations Risk, internal audit, and technology leaders to execute governance and accountability across WFT initiatives. Proactive Risk Escalation
  • Escalate issues and risks to initiative leads and/or CIO teams to ensure timely resolution well in advance of execution plan end dates. Metrics & Performance Optimization
  • Participate in the development of standard metrics and KPIs; analyze and drive optimization for the WFT organization against key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Experience managing and executing risk programs aligned with Risk, Compliance, or Control functions to support business objectives. Technology Risk Expertise
  • Broad knowledge of technology environments, including risks and controls, with familiarity in AI/ML, modeling, and quantum technologies. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Strong ability to work with leaders and teams across all levels and departments to drive alignment and execution. Strategic Risk Insight
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial, operational, technical, and regulatory environments in complex global service settings. Consultative Risk Advisory
  • Proven track record of offering constructive consulting, escalating issues appropriately, and delivering actionable solutions. Technology Control Framework Governance
  • Experience in centralized governance and strategic planning for Technology Control Frameworks. Engagement Administration and Collaboration
  • Skilled in managing centralized collection and administration of critical engagements, ensuring collaboration among stakeholders. Control Monitoring and Remediation Oversight
  • Develops and executes centralized monitoring of control effectiveness and data compliance, overseeing remediation efforts. Complex Concept Communication
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex technical and risk-related concepts to diverse audiences. Exceptional Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and impactful messaging. Gen AI Risk Assessment Methodology
  • Applies structured risk assessment tailored to Gen AI use cases across the lifecycle: Ideate, Experiment, Prioritize, Build & Deploy, and Productionize. RCSA and Gen AI Integration
  • Familiarity with the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program and its integration with Gen AI risk domains. Gen AI Governance and RACI Framework
  • Understanding of Gen AI lifecycle governance and ability to operate within a RACI framework defining roles and responsibilities. End-to-End Gen AI Engagement
  • Ability to consult and engage from ideation through deployment and monitoring, embedding risk considerations throughout. Gen AI Risk Metrics and Monitoring
  • Defines and tracks key Gen AI risk metrics such as risk assessment completion rates, control gap closures, and automation-driven efficiency gains.

Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates. $144,400.00
