Job Description Purpose of Position:

With the newly developed centralized charge capture/posting unit, we need a revenue capture point person to join our highly skilled and dedicated charge capture team that focuses on charge capture/ posting for our high revenue generating procedure areas that include the O.R., L&D, Interventional Radiology, GI and Cardiac Cath. As part of the Revenue Integrity Charge Capture team this individual will be an integral member of the team responsible for reviewing case logs and patient medical charts for missing documentation, following up with appropriate medical personnel (including but not limited to nurses, surgeons and anesthesiologists), and posting charges. The revenue capture point person will be responsible for collaborating with clinicians, nurses, department managers and staff to ensure accurate charge capture operations are in place to include daily charge capture, revenue reconciliation and error correctio processes. Examples of Typical Tasks:

Responsible for assigned Charge Review and surgical log work queues and the daily monitoring, correcting and posting of charges. Monitors daily charge capture, revenue reconciliation, late charge trending, revenue trending, and work queues for assigned departmental revenue owners for compliant charge capture detail and documentation integrity. Follows-up on all incomplete and inaccurate charges and makes prompt corrections. Works collaboratively with departmental revenue owners and staff in order to complete, correct and resolved unposted logs and charges. Reviews medical charts and case logs for missing and/ or incomplete documentation.
Demonstrates the ability to interact with diverse groups at all levels of the organization by providing guidance and education when needed. Works with clinical staff, department managers and HIM to correct deficiencies in clinical documentation to support medical necessity of services rendered or supplies used. Communicates, observes, and reports on charge entry discrepancies, trends and patterns.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis or related in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or 2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience as described above; or 3. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience. 4. Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must have a general understanding of ICD10 Coding, HCPCS/CPT Coding, revenue codes, charge capture, revenue cycle processes. Knowledge of medical and billing terminology. Epic HB experience. How To Apply If you wish to apply for this position,
