Job Summary:
This role supports the Business Operations function within the Legal Operations team, managing the financial and operational aspects of the legal department. The Business Operations Analyst is responsible for executing day-to-day reporting, process implementation, vendor management, and identifying automation opportunities to increase efficiency.

Job Description Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to legal department operations, including case management, legal spending, vendor performance, and workflow efficiency. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to legal leadership. Assist in the development and management of the legal department’s budget, including forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis for legal matters. Manage purchase order setup, perform initial P&L analysis, handle T&E and headcount reporting, and establish budget/headcount approval workflows. Support the management of relationships with external law firms and other legal service providers. Provide system administration, support e-billing, identify automation/AI opportunities, and assist with vendor management and legal resource planning. Support various projects aimed at improving legal department operations, such as implementing new technologies, streamlining processes, and maintaining knowledge management systems. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, operations, or related role within an in-house legal department, law firm, or other professional services settings. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data. Proficiency in business analysis and intelligence tools (e.g. Excel, Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools) Ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of e-billing and legal matter management systems (preferred) Familiarity with process automation tools (preferred) Understanding of AI applications in business processes (preferred)
