Job Responsibilities Trident Technical College is seeking self-motivated, independent candidates who thrive with minimal supervision to achieve goals effectively in our IT Information Security department. Key responsibilities include implementing and monitoring information security threat management solutions and strategies. This position involves developing solutions to address identified risks and collaborating with various business units across the college to meet security objectives. Additionally, the role assists in developing, deploying, and assessing security configurations and controls. Minimum and Additional Requirements This position requires a high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification. A bachelor’s degree in a related area may be substituted for the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will have the following:

Certifications:

Security+, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCST, Cisco CyberOps Associate or better. Other relevant cybersecurity certifications are also considered a plus. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF) and best practices for implementing secure systems and processes. Successful candidate will have the abilities, knowledge and skills in: Knowledge of system and network security for common operating systems and local area networks.
Experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM solutions, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners. Experience with vulnerability management and threat mitigation strategies.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge and understanding of information risks concepts and principles.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
Ability to understand, write, and carry out complex technical procedures. Strong organizational and time management skills.
