Assess the impact of new processes, systems, orchanges on business operations and recommend actionable steps forseamless integration. ? f. Support the development of businessartifacts, including business rules, process documentation, andoperational procedures, to enhance project outcomes. ? g. Act as abridge between business and technology teams, ensuringmodernization efforts align with operational needs and userrequirements. ? h. Identify potential risks and roadblocks, workingproactively with teams to develop mitigation strategies and ensuresmooth execution. ? i. Advise on operationalizing and aligningbusiness processes with project goals, ensuring solutions arescalable, sustainable, and meet long-term program needs. ? j.
Mentor and transfer knowledge to State teams, ensuring they havethe capacity to navigate and implement modernization effortssuccessfully. ? k. Facilitate validation of business requirements,ensuring solutions meet end-user needs and policy objectives. ? l.
Support efforts to measure success, track key milestones, andensure accountability for modernization initiatives. ? m. Providestrategic insights into future-state business development, advisingon long-term program sustainability and continuous improvement.
JOBDESCRIPTION
The Business Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides deep,hands-on expertise to ensure modernization initiatives align withreal-world business operations, policies, and compliancerequirements. SME’s work directly with State business teams inMMIS, IE&E, and HIE, advising on business workflows, programpolicies, and operational impacts. This role focuses on tacticalexecution, helping business teams define requirements, developbusiness rules, validate system changes, and ensure thatmodernization efforts integrate smoothly into daily operations.
SME’s play a critical role in bridging business needs withtechnology solutions, ensuring that transformation efforts arepractical, scalable, and user centered. SME’s will be engagedacross relevant business domains, including but not limited to: ? •
MMIS:
Claims processing, provider enrollment, prior authorization,pharmacy benefit management, care management, appeals, andthird-party liability.
IE&E:
Economic Services Division (ESD),Health Access Eligibility & Enrollment Unit (HAEEU), programintegrity, and benefit coordination . . ? •
