Position Overview:
Monogram Foods is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Category Insights to lead the development of category and shopper insights across our branded, private label, and foodservice businesses. This role will be instrumental in driving strategic growth through deep analysis, customer-specific strategies, and a commitment to being a preferred partner across retail and foodservice channels. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams to uncover actionable insights that inform assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies—contributing directly to long-term growth and customer value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead category strategy development to identify new growth opportunities and emerging trends across channels. Deliver compelling, data-driven stories that drive strategic decisions and customer alignment. Partner with Sales and Customers to provide assortment recommendations, pricing and promo analysis, and insights from POS and loyalty data. Translate shopper and consumer insights into actionable plans that influence retailer strategies. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing clear, actionable recommendations backed by robust analysis. Collaborate cross-functionally to align category goals with broader business strategies. Foster a culture of curiosity, learning, and innovation within the category management team. Present complex data in a simplified, impactful way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior division leadership category trends and shopper behavior shifts to inform enterprise-level portfolio and channel strategy decisions. Present high-impact findings and recommendations to senior leadership and, where appropriate, executive-level stakeholders to support strategic business decisions. Lead cross-functional working groups across Sales, Marketing, R D, and Finance to embed a customer- and insights-first mindset across the organization. Influence capital investment, innovation, and go-to-market strategies by aligning category insights with corporate initiatives and customer needs.

Education and Experience:
B.S. in Business or related field. Open to travel up to at least 50%. 10+ years in business intelligence, analytics, or category management, including 3+ years in a leadership role. Strong experience with syndicated and retail data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, SPINS, 84.51, Numerator, Luminate). Deep understanding of the CPG industry and retail landscape. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools. Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and planning abilities. Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills. Proven track record in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams. Change management experience to support the adoption of analytics-driven initiatives.
