job summary: Manufacturing Buyer for a leading innovative manufacturer based near Birmingham, AL. This position is responsible for researching vendors, evaluating products and materials for quality, materials, cost, and availability. Required Qualifications:
Must have at least three (3) years buyer/purchasing experience within a manufacturing environmentExperience with supplier negotiation and development of supplier relationshipsExperience handling MRO and parts suppliers for manufacturing
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in business, procurement, or related field location: Birmingham, Alabama job type: Permanent salary: $65,000 – 75,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Responsible for researching vendors, evaluating products and materials for quality, materials, cost, and availabilityLocate suppliers of materials required for product productionEvaluate and monitor vendor performance against purchasing agreements/contracts to ensure complianceArrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery to meet productionMonitor and Review reports to determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for current and forecasted needsResolve delivery issues such as delays, short orders, material discrepancies, and quality issues. #LI-JM1 qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 3 years of experience
