The role ofa Buyer is to support the sourcing and purchasing of technicalgoods and services for the organization and ensure they arepurchased from specified suppliers that meet demand requirements,business, and quality specifications. Expertise is required intechnical specifications and supplier evaluation which will play acritical role in maintaining an efficient supply chain andsupporting the successful execution and fulfilment to our customer.
This role may also be responsible for negotiating with suppliersand ensuring the goods and services are delivered upon agreed termsand conditions, seeking maximum value for the company includingagreed time and cost. Ensure a high level of responsive fieldsupport for revenue generating activities. Provides the best valueto Nabors through competitive sourcing. Resolves vendor andOperations issues. Creates and issues Purchase Orders for servicesand materials. Purchase materials and services required to meetSupply Chain objectives and to expeditiously complete customersales orders and repairs. Negotiate prices, delivery and terms withsuppliers and vendors. Expedite deliveries to meet field customerbusiness needs and schedules.
Receive requisitions:
analyze forquantity, specifications, and delivery requirements. Developsources, request pricing and delivery; select suppliers, placeorders, follow up until equipment is received. Advise management ofmarket conditions and supplier base activity, which could affectpricing and/or delivery. Participate on strategic development andimplementation projects and participate as assigned on specialprojects. Reconcile problem invoices related to purchase orders.
Work with freight forwarders and Logistics Manager on a dailybasis. Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalfof management. LI-TL1 Must be able to establish and maintain goodworking relationship with team and all levels of management,departments and employees. Self-starter with ability to work withminimal supervision and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Make decisions that properly reflect company policy. Strong oral,written and organizations skills are required. Able to worksuccessfully in a team environment. Able to drive implementation ofpolicies, procedures and best practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or 3 to 5 years relatedwork experience. Proficient in MS Office.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS /PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Proven ability toprioritize tasks and effectively handle details. Excellent abilityto work in a team environment. Strong supply chain background withthe ability to interact with internal and external customers andsuppliers. Strong communication skills, in both verbal and writtenforms. Knowledge of computer hardware configurations and operatingsystems. PC skills in word processing and spreadsheets desired.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines ina fast-paced environment. Excellent customer relationship andcommunication skills. Must be able to understand the customer needsand specify requirements. Flexibility to solve different types ofchallenges. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
