JOB DESCRIPTION- A

Purchasing Agent is an integral part of the Purchasing Team. The Purchasing Agent position is for someone that has great negotiation skills, great relationship building skills and is a strategic thinker. We are looking for someone that can find cost effective methods to provide waste and recycling services to our clients and ensure timely implementation of service requests presented by the Account Management Team. Negotiation and Contract Management skills are required for this role.

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms. Source and procure equipment, and services required for operations. Coordinate with Account Management Team to ensure timely availability for service implementation and equipment delivery. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and pricing. Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Exceptional prioritization skills to ensure timely resolutions that are appropriate for the severity and impact of the situation. Facilitate communication and troubleshooting with relevant parties for all vendor related problems. Process service changes requested by customer or Account Management team. Resolve billing discrepancies based on contractual obligations. Work on RFP and bidding projects to obtain cost savings for current/potential clients. Experience, Knowledge and Skills A minimum of 3 + years of Purchasing/Procurement experience. Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement processes, and supply chain management principles. Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier capabilities and pricing. Proficient in all purchasing and procurement functions, including a history of successful quoting, contract negotiation and pricing/contract discrepancy resolution. Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills
