Overview:

The Fresh Produce Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the quality of fresh fruit and vegetable products. The main objective is to maintain a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality produce that meets customer needs while optimizing inventory levels and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing and Assortment Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with reliable fruit and vegetable suppliers. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and order quantities. Ensure high-quality seasonal and in-demand products are consistently available.

Quality Control and Shelf Life Management:

Evaluate freshness, appearance, and compliance with quality standards prior to purchase. Inspect incoming deliveries for quality and condition. Handle product returns and defective items while minimizing waste.

Sales and Inventory Analysis:

Use sales and stock data to forecast and plan purchasing decisions. Analyze market trends and adjust the assortment according to customer preferences. Apply retail math principles for ordering and pricing decisions. Collaboration with

Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely product deliveries. Work closely with store managers and staff to maintain optimal stock levels.

Ensure proper storage and compliance with sanitation and health regulations. Guarantee that all purchased products meet internal quality standards.

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience in purchasing, preferably in the fresh produce sector. Strong understanding of inventory control and stock management. Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Ability to analyze sales reports and make data-driven purchasing decisions. Knowledge of handling and logistics for perishable goods. Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficient in Excel and familiar with retail math. Fluency in both English and Russian is required.
