Role Overview:
Purple Unicorn Enterprises, on behalf of OS2 Corporation, is seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient Purchasing Leader to oversee all aspects of the procurement of goods and services necessary for the company’s operations. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, ensures cost-effectiveness, maintains inventory levels, and supports cross-functional teams to align purchasing activities with organizational goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
Oversight and implementation of procurement strategies that support cost savings, quality standards, and timely delivery of goods and services.
Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to establish strong partnerships and favorable terms. Conduct performance reviews and address issues as needed.
Purchasing:
Review and issue all company-wide Purchasing Orders.
Contract Negotiation:
Prepare, review, and manage procurement contracts and purchase agreements. Ensure terms align with company policies and legal standards. Full negotiation and vendor ownership.
Inventory & Supply Planning:
Monitor inventory levels and forecasts to ensure optimal stock without over-purchasing. Collaborate with operations, production, and logistics teams to align supply with demand.
Cost Control:
Analyze purchasing trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements. Dictate project and shipment costs/payment timing with company cash flow top of mind and in cross-functional partnership with peer org leaders.
Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and quality assurance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with finance, operations, legal, and quality assurance teams to support broader business goals and resolve procurement-related issues.
Reporting & Analysis:
Provide daily updates on procurement metrics, vendor performance, cost savings, and risk assessments to leadership, presented alongside your strategic mitigation strategy recommendations.
Team Management:
People management, development, and oversight across Purchasing space. Responsible for building and coaching a cohesive team of approximately three Purchasing Specialists.
Qualifications:
Minimum 6+ years of Procurement experience , with specific expertise with Purchasing and Contract Bidding. Strong experience with international invoicing , including VAT, customs, and foreign currency handling Familiarity with Purchasing software/systems. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience) Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Proven ability to work independently, solve problems, and hit deadlines with little supervision Strong written and verbal communication skills Sublime attention to details. Preferred:
Experience with billing procedures, and compliance supporting government and/or military contracts , ideally relating to the Department of Defense (DOD).

$80 – $95K + Commission potential exists for this role as new vendor sources are identified contributing to cost, resource, and time reductions.
