Procurement and Subcontractor Coordinator Position Available In Hillsborough, Florida

Procurement and Subcontractor Coordinator Kelner Homes Tampa, FL 33609 Role Overview Procurement and Subcontractor Coordinator plays a key role in overseeing and managing relationships with subcontractors, from initial outreach and qualification to contract execution and ongoing support. This person will also be responsible for procuring construction materials according to project specifications and timelines. This person will work closely with Project Managers and vendor companies to ensure smooth collaboration and timely execution of construction projects. Key Responsibilities

• : Receive, review, and evaluate bids, estimates, and proposals from subcontractors for specific trades. Prepare, negotiate, and execute contracts in coordination with internal teams.
• : Research and reach out to new vendors for potential future collaboration and project support.
• : Serve as the main point of contact for subcontractors. Communicate with current vendors and assist Project Managers in resolving issues that arise during the course of a project.
• Provide guidance and clarity to subcontractors on expectations, processes, and scope of work prior to signing a contract.
• : Verify and maintain accurate records of subcontractor licenses, certificates of insurance, and any required credentials to ensure all vendors are properly authorized and compliant.
• : Collaborate with Project Managers to help plan and coordinate subcontractor start dates, ensuring project timelines stay on track.
• Procure construction materials based on project drawings, specifications, and schedules. Ensure timely ordering and delivery to meet project deadlines.
• Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with new suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain for construction materials.

Hard Skills Strong understanding of construction industry practices and terminology (especially in new home construction). Ability to read and interpret construction bids, proposals, and contracts. Knowledge of Florida construction licensing and insurance requirements would be a plus. Experience with Buildertrend is a strong plus. Contract negotiation and drafting. Vendor database management. Familiarity with scheduling and project coordination practices. Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach. Attention to detail and an ability to follow through the task.
