Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team in Tampa, Florida. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing inventory, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality supplies to support our transportation operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a background in purchasing or vendor management.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of spare parts and consumable inventory.
  • Process requisitions for replacement parts and consumable items in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure the prompt and accurate delivery of goods to designated locations.
  • Verify supplies to ensure they meet quality standards and adhere to company requirements.
  • Oversee the allocation of materials to production schedules, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Manage supply requisitions to avoid shortages and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels to align with project needs and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to streamline procurement processes and improve overall efficiency. Requirements
  • Proficiency in using accounting software systems to manage purchasing and inventory.
  • Strong understanding of accounting functions, including accounts payable processes.
  • Experience with buying processes and purchase agreements.
  • Ability to reconcile accounts and ensure vendor transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Familiarity with vendor governance practices and effective vendor management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
