Job Description

Purchasing Agent 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1909 NE 25th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34470 Overview Ofab is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that we acquire high-quality materials and products at competitive prices. This position requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of supply chain dynamics, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to meet production needs.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals. Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, delivery time, and service. Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements. Collaborate with production planning teams to ensure timely availability of materials. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings. Coordinate logistics to ensure efficient delivery of goods to meet production schedules. Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock by coordinating with the production teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials. Responsible to processing account invoices. Ordering supplies, materials, or equipment as needed. Evaluating and monitoring contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes. Responsible for completing work in a timely manner.

Experience:

At least three years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with production planning processes and supply chain management principles. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management. Knowledge of sourcing strategies and logistics operations. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier capabilities and market conditions. Effective communication skills for collaboration across production departments and with external vendors.
