Job Summary:
As a Procurement Specialist , you’ll play a critical role in sourcing, analyzing, reviewing, and acquiring the necessary supplies. This includes identifying high-value opportunities, negotiating purchases, and ensuring that our inventory meets the highest standards by liaising with internal departments and maintaining comprehensive records of procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and assess procurement requests, discussing needs, objectives, and any special requirements with internal teams to ensure compliance with pharmacy standards and best value acquisition. Work with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms for supplies and medications. Ensure purchase orders are complete and accurate, with appropriate authorizations and supporting documents. Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and demand for strategic purchasing decisions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure an uninterrupted procurement process. Conduct market and vendor research for strategic decision-making. Collaborate with finance to resolve procurement-related financial or accounting questions. Maintain vendor lists, pricing records, and supplier contacts. Purchase items and services when required, managing existing contracts or creating new ones. Review, create, and maintain standard contract language and documents.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the staff to fulfill daily tasks and requirements. Additional projects and responsibilities may be designated by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. 2 years of related experience ; candidates without a degree should have 3 additional years of relevant experience. English fluency is preferred; bilingual candidates are a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and handle high-pressure situations. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general software skills.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be self-motivated and open to feedback, continually improving skills in sourcing and negotiating. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Work Environment & Cognitive/Physical Demands:
Pharmacy environment with exposure to loud noises. Requires the use of computer terminals and mobile devices. Normal vision range required.
