Purchasing Agent El Chilar HF is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this role, you will manage the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services required for our operations. You will negotiate with suppliers, place orders, and ensure timely delivery while optimizing cost, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices, delivery terms, and service guarantees. Procure materials, supplies, and equipment based on production and operational needs. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and competitive pricing. Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Track purchase orders, expedite deliveries as needed, and resolve any order-related issues. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including supplier performance, order status, and inventory levels. Process invoices and returns in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability of supplies. Assist with physical inventory counts and support inventory management. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Perform additional purchasing-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing or a similar role. Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel at an intermediate to advanced level (pivot tables, formulas, filters, charts, etc.) and Word. Knowledge of Sage , QuickBooks , and Lace_Up systems/software. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, supply chain management, or related fields is a plus. Experience with procurement software is a plus. Availability to travel as needed.
Skills:
Solid understanding of procurement practices, vendor management, and negotiation techniques. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for data analysis and procurement reporting. Attention to detail and accuracy in tracking orders, maintaining records, and processing invoices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve purchasing issues efficiently. Flexibility and adaptability to changing business priorities. Proactive and dynamic attitude, with the initiative to anticipate needs and propose solutions.
