Position Overview:

The buyer coordinates and controls sourcing activities with a keen focus on purchased parts planning during the development, launch and integration of new models at Boston Whaler.

Essential Functions:

Analyze, forecast, and schedule materials to support rapid commercialization of new model releases.
Communicate engineering specifications and/or revisions to suppliers.
Prepare and distribute requests for quotations.
Execute parts planning strategies in conjunction with production integration.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, addressing concerns and ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.
Maintain internal database to assist in the management of supplier selection, best cost, and development lead times.
Support Model Year Enhancements, Continuous Improvement, Engineering Change and Special Instruction parts through sourcing, ordering and installation process.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or materials management required. Bachelor’s degree in business or Materials Management preferred.
AS400, Ultriva, and prior MRP experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel required.

Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with effective task management skills.
Ability to prioritize efficiently in a dynamic atmosphere.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Experience collaborating across departments to achieve goals.
Ability to proactively resolve supplier and specification issues.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Proven sourcing and problem-solving skills required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $48,800-$77,000 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
