Business Unit and Position Summary:

Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technology Business Segment of the Crane Corporation, a US multi-national company which specializes in highly engineered industrial products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers.
Crane Nuclear features recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and valve maintenance/testing scope-based process driven services. The incumbent is responsible for both tactical and strategic duties. Tactically, the individual will complete purchase order requests for both direct and indirect supplies. Strategically, the incumbent will develop, implement, and optimize the sourcing and procurement strategies. This individual will lead efforts to identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, pricing and manage supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

Principle Responsibilities:

Research and identify potential suppliers. Evaluate current supplier performance as it relates to cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.
Draft, manage and negotiate supplies contracts, inclusive of process and terms and conditions.
Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Work seamlessly with Inventory Control and Manufacturing to understand and adhere to Business Model for Testing Products.
Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers, analyze supplier performance, and understand industry trends.
Prepare purchase orders for both direct and indirect supplies.
Report on supplier performance, spend and savings.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of related experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks to meet deadlines, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all departments.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in written form.
General knowledge of purchasing procedures and supply chain.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
