Purchasing Buyer Position Available In DeKalb, Georgia

A client is looking for a Purchasing Buyer to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory strategies in collaboration with merchandising and operations teams to ensure optimal stock levels and support our overarching business objectives. The day-to-day responsibilities include the following: Creating purchase orders to facilitate the timely replenishment to nationwide DC network Communicating with both vendors and DCs to ensure smooth flow of information and goods Working to ensure the highest service levels (fill rates) to our customers within inventory targets Meeting or exceeding inventory turn goals Monitoring vendor performance (fill rate and on-time delivery) and taking corrective action where necessary Coordinating returns to the vendors for damaged and discontinued merchandise Monitoring inventory at all assigned locations and recommending transfers as appropriate to reduce/prevent overstock Reviewing missed demand and adjusting inventory to capture future sales Other duties as assigned Experience required in order to be considered: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain 2+ years of inventory planning experience from a large company Experience fully managing and running their own category of products Import experience SQL experience – ability to run and adjust queries Strong Excel knowledge – has to have pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups and percent changes

Compensation:

$75,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
