Job Description

We are currently looking for a Buyer to join our team in the Norcross, Purchasing Department.
The selected candidate would be responsible for the planning and purchasing of goods and services to ensure an adequate supply of material to support the company’s objectives with concentration on New Product Development (NPD). Considering price, quality, delivery, and continuity of supply.
The Technical Buyer leverages technical knowledge, expertise, and understanding in support of materials used in all levels of finished good maturation. The buyer is also responsible for soliciting quotes and proposals for selected materials or services. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work closely with Engineering and Quality departments, regarding establishing new supplier relationships, representing Purchasing for NPD projects across all Value streams.
Executes the MRP plan to ensure a steady flow of material to support manufacturing. Analyzing material requirements; Generate RFQ’s, purchase order creation and management
Develop measures for purchasing improvement and implement them with the internal departments of the company and/or with the suppliers.
Evaluate supplier’s ability to supply quality products and services at competitive pricing
Negotiate with suppliers, logistics service providers, and other chain partners about the purchase of raw materials, packaging materials, etc. Reporting cost savings appropriately
Maintains a good corporate image by conducting purchasing activities upon a solid foundation of honesty, integrity, fairness, and confidentiality.
Coordinate Requests for material quotes
Updating and establishing purchasing procedures as required
Perform other related duties as required by management.

Key qualifications include:

Technical/ Associate degree or higher preferred.
3+ year experience in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred
Result oriented, accurate, and open-minded
Must be willing and able to learn in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of quality standards, production guidelines, business process, and document management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Microsoft Office skills required
Negotiation skills required
SAP experience required
Ability to train others desired
