Description Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for components and raw materials throughout the product development process, ensuring project targets for cost, timing, and quality are met by monitoring supplier progress to achieve necessary milestones. + Agree with responsible commodity buyer the bidders list to initiate the RFQ and quotation activities. + Coordination of technical meetings (feasibility study / concepts / etc.) with suppliers, including the necessary technical functions (Quality and R& D). + Technical advice to suppliers with support of the respective department, if necessary. + Preparation and execution of negotiations with suppliers and presentation of supplier choice for the purchasing decision board/meeting. + Arrangement of samples production and essential production equipment with the corresponding production departments. + Continuously monitor on-time PPAP submission, delivery and PPAP approvals during the PDP with the assistance of the Supplier Quality Development. + Close cooperation with internal interfaces such as project and sales management, engineering and the production plants. + Conduct the Change Management (ECM) and negotiations concerning any design change required during the PDP with the assistance of the Commodity Buyer (CB). + Support implementation of general Purchasing strategy (e.g. localization, global footprint, etc.). + Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring ongoing collaboration and performance. + Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, both internally and at supplier sites, to drive process efficiencies, cost reductions, and quality enhancements. + Regular reporting of required KPIs, to monitor objectives with data and timing.
Requirements Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree is preferred or in place, we would accept B.S. Business, B.S. Project Management or B.S. Engineering. + 3-5 years of experience in program related purchasing activities, supplier evaluation and negotiation. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: + Knowledge and experience in technical manufacturing processes. + Ability to read technical prints and specifications and manage feasibility confirmations with engineering and suppliers. + Evaluate technical BOMs with market prices for calculations. + Ability to analyze cost of supplier quotes. + Active management of cost down activities for our products (technical, alternative supplier). + Ability for domestic and international travel (up to 30%). + Outstanding communication skills (written and spoken). + Strong interpersonal skills and international business etiquette. + Outstanding Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and profound SAP knowledge. + Open, proactive, and flexible approach with willingness to work in a constantly evolving/growing environment. + Team player. + Attendance and punctuality.
