We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buyer to support our purchasing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing, ordering, and tracking materials and components necessary for production. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for production. Issue purchase orders to suppliers based on material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory levels. Monitor and track open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery. Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm order details, and resolve discrepancies. Collaborate with production, inventory, and quality teams to ensure materials meet specifications and delivery schedules. Help identify and qualify new suppliers as needed. Assist in negotiating pricing and delivery terms under supervision. Address supply chain issues such as shortages, delays, or quality concerns. Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supply chain processes.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in purchasing or supply chain, ideally within a manufacturing setting. Basic understanding of procurement and inventory principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure. Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
