Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting La-Z-Boy’s long-term manufacturing strategy. This role is responsible for all commercial deliverables for assigned sourcing commodities and components including quotes, quote revisions, design reviews, final pricing and timing negotiations, ramp up plans, and initial quality to ensure flawless launch of new products. This role is also responsible for advising new part and material sourcing to improve cost, quality, and function of existing products.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages supplier vendor base, directs and monitors initial production PO issuance, and ensures on-time receipt of PPAP/Launch PO’s. Works directly with sourcing managers to ensure prototype/preproduction material needs are met on time. Advises on opportunities for material delivery improvements and coordinates expedite with logistics/GTC team. Manages and resolves vouchers for direct material vendors. Works with commodity managers to ensure issues are resolved. Completes new part pricing setup and updates pricing changes in E1 system. Supports procurement team on new product launches and supplier performance activities. Provides analytical support for strategic sourcing projects and manages the Strategic Sourcing Council Meeting. Manages and assigns RFQ’s thru the ZYCUS supplier management system. Completes sourcing documents for new sourcing events, presents to the council as needed. Maintains and updates sourcing dashboard.
SCOPE & IMPACT
Support function for key individuals for the sourcing decision in of all new products and components launched in annual $2-4 million awards and $80 million in cover. Support for R D and Merchandising new product launch, lifecycle of cover availability to include purchasing to discontinuation of cover and Innovation development to presented at furniture market.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years in Vendor Management, Production and Work in Progress (WIP) Strong PC application skills such as Excel, Access, Word, Power Point. Dedication to customer service. Effectively manage multiple task/projects. Highly organized, analytical and action orientated. Up to 15% travel domestic and International travel possible
