Core Responsibilities:
Work directly with engineering and production teams to clarify materials specifications and procurement needs. Source suppliers and request quotes for a range of items including electronic parts, machined components, and consumables. Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders; ensure timelines and delivery schedules are maintained. Support vendor communications to confirm order accuracy, delivery status, and address any order discrepancies. Track and maintain procurement data using an ERP system, ensuring all supplier and pricing information is current. Participate in initiatives aimed at streamlining purchasing processes and reducing overall procurement costs. Review and help assess supplier performance, using key metrics like delivery reliability, pricing, and product quality.
What You’ll Bring:
A degree (Associate or Bachelor’s) in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline. Up to 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or a supply chain function—preferably in a manufacturing context. Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. ERP system experience (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.) is desirable but not required. Understanding of both mechanical and electronic components is a definite advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to coordinate across departments. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Bonus Skills & Experience:
Ability to interpret BOMs and basic engineering drawings. Familiarity with ISO or other quality compliance systems. Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes. Awareness of fundamental supply chain principles. The pay is up to $30.00 an hour based on experience
