Job DescriptionJob Description Position Summary :
The Buyer-Planner II shall collaborate with Fleet Maintenance Operations to review and process purchase requisitions of materials/services at the right order quantity, the required lead-time and according to the organization’s procurement standard operating procedure. The Buyer-Planner II will develop and maintain inventory control plans to ensure the operation teams have the parts necessary to complete their daily maintenance tasks. The Buyer-Planner II will engage with various department leaders to support sourcing plans, any special projects/programs and execute tactical and strategic actions of the supply chain. The position will be 2nd shift (3:00 – 11:00 PM).
Essential Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement inventory control systems to prevent unnecessary purchases and supply disruptions.
- Assist in establishing minimum material thresholds for each location to avoid productivity losses.
- Create and manage delivery schedules for bulk orders of Point of Use parts.
- Help establish purchasing workflows to ensure accurate pricing and material selection.
- Engage in complex negotiations with suppliers to maintain a competitive supply chain.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff and suppliers to recover warranties on parts and labor.
- Monitor, record, and manage the inventory of purchased components in designated areas- including year-end inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company purchase terms and continuously communicate these standards to suppliers.
- Assist maintenance technicians with parts dispensing for repair work-orders and perform inventory reconciliation.
- Travel less than 3% for emergencies, potentially retrieving parts from suppliers or cross-campus locations.

certifications buy not required At least two (2) year of purchasing and/or material planning experience in a service-oriented environment for medium/heavy duty fleet, equipment & parts management, repairs and warranty recover, five (5) years Experience with ERP systems, RTA a plus Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences Strong negotiation skills Strong analytical skills and ability to aggregate and analyze large data set Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Benefits at
