Procurement Buyer Procurement Buyer Qualifications:
Buyer Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of Oracle ERP and Ariba Procure-to-Pay systems or equivalent systems. Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing key fundamentals. Able to lead by ensuring adherence to purchasing practices, compliance and guidelines. Must have analytical skills necessary to evaluate the cost effectiveness of purchasing options and planning for major commodities. Must be able to read, and interpret, terms and conditions of contracts. Ensure supplier compliance and policies are met. Advises management of opportunities to improve cost, performance or process using facts, research & analysis.

Buyer Responsibilities:

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and primary contact for field operations, providing technical support as needed. Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that orders are placed with approved suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, including Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Parts, and Service. Collaborate with stakeholders to request, evaluate, negotiate, and select proposals for goods and services that are not covered by existing contracts. Manage the relationship between internal customers and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and mutual understanding of expectations. Process requisitions and create Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), distributing them as necessary. Ensure all purchasing activities align with sourcing strategies and contract guidelines set by procurement managers. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for consolidation and cost savings in local spend. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, quality specifications, and service levels with suppliers when required. Monitor and track project purchase orders through to completion, ensuring all items are delivered in a timely manner. Communicate any cost changes to relevant stakeholders and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, requisitions, or POs. Manage supplier inquiries, resolve service issues, address disputes, and handle payment discrepancies in a timely manner. Handle one-off, exception purchases by negotiating pricing and selecting suppliers based on demand. Participate in supplier performance reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
