Job Details Overview:
We are seeking a hands-onSenior Buyer to join a growing team responsible for sourcing andprocurement. This role is highly tactical, focusing on suppliermanagement, inventory control, and day-to-day procurementoperations. The position will sit in Luka, MS, supporting theproduction of reverse osmosis systems, with additional coordinationacross other product lines. The ideal candidate thrives infast-moving environments, has a strong understanding of seasonaldemand planning, and excels at working independently whilecollaborating across remote teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manageprocurement activities across multiple product categories,coordinating closely with global supply chain and sales teams toalign inventory levels, supply sources, and production schedules.
Maintain and update MRP databases based on lead times, deliveryschedules, and demand fluctuations. Issue and monitor purchaseorders, ensuring timely, accurate, and quality fulfillment.
Proactively engage with suppliers to resolve delivery issues,quality concerns, and administrative discrepancies. Supportengineering teams by sourcing materials for new product developmentand resolving material constraints on existing products. Overseeinbound container logistics, including tracking, documentation, andcustoms compliance. Monitor commodity pricing across metals, labor,and other key materials; provide market insights to supply chainleadership. Evaluate vendor performance, support alternate sourcinginitiatives, and maintain supplier compliance. Communicate leadtime changes and inventory impacts to operations and leadership.
Conduct analytics to support cost reduction initiatives andmaterial planning efficiency. Collaborate with finance to validatesupplier invoices and address discrepancies. Support inventorycontrol initiatives to minimize working capital tied up inslow-moving or excess inventory. Partner with production schedulingteams to ensure availability of required materials. Contribute tocontinuous improvement initiatives within the supply chainfunction.
Key Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of purchasing,procurement, or supply chain experience; if degreed, would be opento less experience. Strong experience sourcing components fromAsia, managing consignment agreements, and working with ERP/MRPsystems. Proficient in demand planning, seasonality management, anddynamic safety stock strategies. Familiarity with ISO9001 qualitymanagement systems and supplier quality oversight. Comfortableoperating in a decentralized environment where key cross-functionalpartners are located offsite. Highly organized, self-driven, andadaptable; able to manage multiple competing priorities. Strongnegotiation, communication, and supplier relationship managementskills. Technically proficient in ERP platforms such as Epicor,Accumatica, Netstock, and advanced Excel (pivot tables).
