WHAT YOU WILL DO JOB SUMMARY
Manages the assigned categories and delivering commercial agreements which optimize value for money for direct materials. Additionally, the Buyer is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to improve efficiency and deliver quality, supply, and cost performance across factories while maintaining all regulatory mandates for materials. Manages the relationships with the suppliers for the assigned categories. Develops peer relationships and continually collaborate with key stakeholders ensuring that commercial delivery and internal service are equally balanced.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Job Description (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the Company) Category Management and Procurement for the purchase of all direct materials for the Region Drives and delivers commercial agreements optimizing value for money. Adheres to standard procurement processes. Ensures early procurement engagement in projects and significant spend areas to maximize impact. Develops deep product and supplier knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the categories managed. Ensures risk management and contingency planning is in place for all key suppliers. Develops peer relationships and continually collaborate with key stakeholders to obtain their inputs and ensure strategies and supplier base meet business requirements. Raise instances of non-compliance to internal stakeholder ways of working. Undertakes adequate analysis and planning to enable effective supplier negotiations which deliver a world class cost base. Works within the Company procurement team and Global Procurement in adherence of all standards and expectations on direct materials procurement process. Partners with internal compliance group to ensure all aspects of direct procurement are compliant with legal and regulatory expectations. Create and implement Procurement category strategies Cost management of the assigned categories, through analysis, negotiation and tracking of material cost level. Reviews spends for cost opportunities, aiming for a yearly target reduction. Assists in the development of material specifications. Evaluates current and new suppliers and conduct tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals. Utilizes Company audit system for evaluation of material suppliers. Contract management contracts and roll-out ITG Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) to with existing and new suppliers. Supports the roll-out of contract terms and conditions and maintain supplier relationships. Manages relationships and performance of suppliers. Executes business review meetings. Administers contract performance, including delivery, receipt, warranty, damages, and insurance for selected contracts. Manages pricing. Ensures that Imperial Brands is getting value for money and what was initially agreed in the contract. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study and 3+ years related work experience Must be 21 years of age or older
Knowledge of:
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams Strong knowledge of analysis in Excel Strong procurement knowledge, e.g., tendering process, procurement terminology Skilled in: Verbal and written communication Attention to detail Problem/situation analysis Analytical analysis including strong numeracy skills Office administration Effective time and task management Multitasking capabilities Flexibility and adaptability Ability to: Communicate to a broad and diverse audience Maintain effective working relationships Demonstrate critical thinking Work and collaborate with diverse populations and varying education levels Receive and communicate information orally and in writing Prioritize assignments, workload, and manage time accordingly Negotiate competently including the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches Communicate and influence executive leadership Travel domestically up to 10% of the time as business needs require
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years related work experience.
Related experience to include:
3+ years relevant procurement experience Procurement and category management experience Tendering knowledge Finance or accounting background desirable
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
Lift, carry, push, pull, install, or remove objects weighing less than 10lbs. Walks, sits, or stands for extended periods. Requires prolonged machine operation including vehicle, computer, and keyboard equipment. Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Identify and distinguish color and shades of color. Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.
