Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate all aspects of purchasing and distribution of maintenance repair supply parts and services while taking into account cost-effective solutions. Select qualified suppliers and manufacturers and develop new supply sources of high dollar value, long lead time, critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or service. Maintain productive relationships with vendors and service providers while obtaining the best purchasing prices. Determine and evaluate alternate part sources. Establish centralized buying including issuing purchase orders, contracts and change orders, cost control, change control, and inventory. Develop and maintain a vendor management/reliability scorecard to track delivery of ordered parts to their estimated delivery date and have a real-time system for managing. Identify improvement areas and develop and execute continuous improvement activities to achieve greater maintenance customer satisfaction. Develop continuous improvement plans to reduce direct material costs. Maintain complete and accurate records and reports. Act as point of contact for all MRO vendor issues. Utilize the corporate purchasing card to make purchases as needed. Implement and coordinate cost reduction strategies for MRO purchases. Work to reduce indirect inventory. Work in conjunction with cross functional teams (i.e. Engineering, Materials, Quality, Finance, etc.). Monitor supplier performance communicates and results to management. Take necessary action to remedy supplier issues. Comply with and monitor good manufacturing practices (GMPs) in respective areas. Assist in updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required. Provide administrative support including arranging group meetings and luncheons, compiling the monthly plant management report, providing tertiary backup for data entry, and taking on special assignments supporting plant management staff. Work closely with the storeroom attendant and coordinate work activities.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

Associate’s degree in a related field. 3 years’ MRO procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing and production operations. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs): Good understanding of mechanical/electrical parts and terminology. Good interpersonal & communication skills; able to communicate internally and externally at all levels of the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency. Ability to learn new applications. Able to adapt to changing procedures and environments. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Maintenance management system experience.
