Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials and services at competitive prices. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient supply chain operations and supporting organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability. Negotiate terms and conditions of purchase agreements and contracts. Issue purchase orders and track delivery timelines to ensure timely receipt of goods and services. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies. Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure budget compliance and cost control. Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Knowledge of supply chain procedures and best practices.
