PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST FOR CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will support a Procurement manager(s). The duties will support the capital project engineering stakeholders to drive procurement initiatives and activities such as: Supplier Relationship Management, project contracts, scopes of work and negotiations, and other related duties as required. This position will drive and implement strategic programs focused on reducing cost and improving supplier engagement and performance. This will be achieved by utilizing Procurement methods and best practices.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Collaborates with internal customers: project construction managers and technical/engineering managers and external suppliers in developing and executing business strategy and initiatives in line with Procurement policies processes, initiatives and best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and executes tactics to source and commit procurement of construction and engineering services. Works directly with project team members, suppliers and contractors to define project requirements and scopes of work, and requests for proposal and bid submittals. Assists in Initiating RFPs/RFQs, analyzes bids, negotiates for best and final offer, and awards bid packages. Participates in structuring and managing supplier contracts. Develops and implements effective Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs. Develops and implements strategic sourcing strategies, contracts and rates for capital projects, initiatives and partnering programs. Organizes and manages supplier negotiations through gathering of stakeholder and business requirements. Assist in pre-qualification process of sub-contractors.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of Procurement practices such as sourcing, spend category management, market and cost analysis, contract negotiations, supplier selection, contract structuring, development and implementation of supplier performance service level agreements, and performance metrics. Strong project management skills and communication skills both orally and in writing Knowledge of business functional processes (negotiating contracts, writing RFPs). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously Strong teamwork skills.
