Job Description:
The Operational Buyer Indirect III will support the company’s strategic growth across North America by leading procurement activities for capital expenditures related to process and clean utilities equipment. This role involves managing equipment purchases for projects ranging from $10M to $500M in investment, with responsibilities spanning strategy implementation, supplier engagement, and execution of procurement plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and execute category strategies for Process & Clean Utilities Equipment aligned with the company’s business needs and supply market capabilities. Act as the primary liaison for assigned suppliers, managing relationships and overseeing procurement performance. Drive supplier performance using scorecards and performance metrics to ensure compliance and accountability. Participate in supplier relationship management (SRM) and development to optimize value and reliability. Collaborate with Project Procurement Execution teams to ensure category strategies are effectively implemented in project sourcing plans. Negotiate packages and terms for assigned capital projects to meet cost, quality, and schedule goals. Ensure project sourcing priorities align across Global Capex Procurement, Global Engineering, and project stakeholders. Develop and implement supply risk mitigation strategies. Monitor and report monthly cost savings and maintain a pipeline of ongoing savings initiatives. Lead procurement activities for machinery and process equipment related to assigned Capex investment projects. Manage the procurement strategy for each project, including execution, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Experience in procurement or project purchasing, preferably in Capex or process equipment sectors. Proven negotiation, communication, and contract drafting skills. Strong project and procurement management capabilities. Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, Oracle Unifier. Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed, team-oriented environment. Strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and problem-solving skills. #TM2
