Job Description
Procurement Assistant A1 Tablecloth Company 450 Huyler Street, South Hackensack, NJ 07606 A1 Procurement Assistant A1 is looking for a purchasing employee to be responsible for our company’s administrative purchasing activities, including vetting suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing the procurement process. They will assist in developing strategies to meet company needs while staying within guidelines and restrictions. The procurement assistant will also track established metrics to reduce expenses, negotiate deals, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. This employee will also work with upper management and inventory control to run data analysis on raw goods. Assist with developing purchasing strategies Reviews and processes (main goods) purchase orders. Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers with guidance from upper management Builds and maintains relationships with vendors. Qualifies prospective vendors and prepares comparison presentations. Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders Keeps Incoming PO ETA’s up to date Coordinates with upper management and inventory control to monitor inventory and determine supply needs. Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise. Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary. Filing, recordkeeping, and general admin related to the purchasing function
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support
- Experience working with vendors, purchase orders, or inventory systems Skills & competencies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP or purchasing systems preferred, SAP a plus
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and terminology
- Problem solving skills and the ability to follow up and track orders through to completion
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$24.00 – $26.00 per hour
