Immediate contract opportunity for Procurement Buyer with directclient in Westchester County, NY. Our client – a major utility firmbased out of Westchester County, NY – has an immediate need for aProcurement Buyer. The particulars of the position are as follows.
Project Overview:
This role will support Strategic SupplyManagement and will be responsible for performing procurementduties/functions to assist the Renewables Category as well assoftware as a service and software license agreements. Areas ofsupport also could include Legal and Cyber Security.
Job Functions& Responsibilities:
- Primary focus is to review upcoming SoftwareMaintenance expirations, determine business needs, propose renewalterms and execute new Agreements/Purchase Orders.
- Ensure allcontract documents are in compliance with New York Stateguidelines.
- Process Change orders as necessary.
- PreparePurchase orders as requested.
- Post documents to the NY StateContract Reporter as required.
- Attend project meetings, includingonsite meetings, as necessary.
- Maintain diligent and thoroughrecordkeeping Additional work may include:
- Preparing RFP’S forclient, including bid documents, price inquiries and addendums.
- Identify potential vendors, as necessary, including available MWBE,MBE and SDVOB vendors for solicitation.
- Develop required contractdocuments based on RFP results.
Skills Requirements:
- Strongknowledge and experience working in SAP and Ariba.
- MicrosoftOffice/Outlook skills.
- Ability to successfully prioritize work onmultiple tasks.
- Good organizational skills with an attention todetail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability toextract, comprehend and analyze data while determining thenecessary course of action in an independent, professional andtimely manner.
- Exceptional customer service and stronginterpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work in agovernment /utilities, highly regulated environment.
- Effectivewritten and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of New YorkState procurement process is preferred. Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field or aminimum of 2 years of military experience in logistics.
- Minimum 1year of Procurement or related experience with focus on IT softwarelicensing and maintenance contracts.
