This role involves procurement support for IT, with potential additional involvement in legal and cybersecurity categories. The specialist will ensure timely renewals, contract compliance, and effective vendor coordination while working in a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Review upcoming software maintenance expirations, assess business needs, recommend renewal terms, and execute updated agreements or purchase orders. Ensure contract documentation is compliant with applicable state and organizational guidelines. Process change orders and generate purchase orders as needed. Submit documentation to the appropriate procurement reporting systems. Participate in project meetings, including occasional onsite engagements. Maintain accurate and thorough procurement and contract records.
Additional duties may include:
Drafting RFPs, bid documents, price inquiries, and addenda. Identifying and engaging potential vendors, including MWBE, MBE, and SDVOB suppliers. Developing final contract documentation based on RFP outcomes. Skills & Qualifications Proficient in SAP and Ariba procurement systems. Strong Microsoft Office and Outlook skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Effective verbal and written communication. Experience working in a regulated, government, or utilities environment is a plus. Familiarity with New York State procurement procedures is preferred. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field OR minimum 2 years of military experience in logistics. Minimum of 1 year of procurement experience, ideally focused on IT software licensing and maintenance contracts .
