SCM Strategic Buyer – Breakers & Modules Hitachi Energy United States, Pennsylvania, Mount Pleasant 100 Distribution Circle (Show on map) Jun 23, 2025 The Opportunity Join Hitachi Energy as a Strategic Buyer for Breakers & Modules, where you’ll play a crucial role in purchasing goods and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This position offers the chance to develop and implement sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with business goals. You’ll be at the forefront of market research, supplier management, and process optimization, making a significant impact on our supply chain efficiency.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. How You’ll Make an Impact Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key commodities and materials.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost savings and quality improvements.
Conduct market research to track trends, risks, and new opportunities in the supply chain.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality and service standards.
Optimize procurement costs by analyzing total cost of ownership (TCO).
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure budget alignment and cost-saving initiatives.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your Background Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
3-7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
