We currently have an open opportunity for a Buyer at our Facility located in Bradley, IL.

Position Summary:

The Buyer will obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Studies market trends, interviews vendors and recommends sources of supply. Analyzes quotations received, selects or recommends suppliers, and schedules deliveries. Coordinates preparation of orders and follows up to expedite delivery and shipment. Obtains certifications of delivery and conducts checks against orders. Checks and approves invoices for orders placed. Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation.

Main Responsibilities:

Under direction, and in compliance with established policies and procedures, performs the following for assigned spend categories:

• Responsible for the acquisition, scheduling and delivery of material and/or finished goods based on MRP output.
• Responsible for the acquisition of material, supplies, equipment and services based on electronic purchase requisitions.
• Responsible for ensuring all purchases are properly authorized.
• Responsible for Purchase Order data accuracy.
• Ensures all purchases comply with established requirements.
• Responsible for in transit status tracking and timely receipt of purchased items.
• Processes and manages blanket type purchase orders.
• Participates in the disposition of rejected component materials and insures timely resolution to support production schedules.
• Resolves supplier issues as required.
• Prepares Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quote (RFQ), and Request for Proposal (RFP) as required.
• Supports development of negotiation strategies, and participates in negotiations as assigned.
• Promotes and maintains positive working relationships among internal staff and suppliers.
• Participates in cost reduction initiatives.
• Performs other duties as required.

Strongly Preferred:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role in Industrial manufacturing environment. Knowledge of the principles, methods and procedures employed in the acquisition of material, supplies, finished goods, equipment and services SAP (MRP) Experience Problem solving abilities Solid work ethic, Good character, Positive attitude

• Knowledge of order management principles, methods and procedures.
• Direct supplier relationship experience.
• Knowledge of various material planning/supply technics.
• Proficient with use of various software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Google Sheets, SAP.
• This is a full-time, Hourly position with benefits.
