Job Summary:

The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services required for the production of solar panels. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials while maintaining cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry, preferably in solar energy or related sectors.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing:

Identifyand select suppliers for raw materials, components, and services relatedto solar panel production (e.g., cells, glass, frames, etc.). Negotiatepricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure competitive ratesand favorable terms. Ensuretimely delivery of materials to meet production schedules, minimizingdelays.

Vendor Management:

Establishand maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluateand monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality standards, deliverytimelines, and cost objectives are met. Addressand resolve any supplier issues, such as delays, quality concerns, orservice interruptions.

Inventory Management:

Collaboratewith the production and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels of rawmaterials. Monitorstock levels and reorder materials proactively to avoid productiondowntime. Ensureaccurate and efficient tracking of materials and supplies.

Cost Optimization & Budget Management:

Trackprocurement spending and identify opportunities for cost savings withoutcompromising on quality. Assistin preparing and managing the procurement budget.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensureall procurement activities comply with company policies, industrystandards, and legal requirements. Maintainaccurate records of all purchases, supplier contracts, and agreements.

Market Research & Analysis:

Stayupdated on industry trends, market conditions, and new suppliers to ensurethe company remains competitive. Conductcost-benefit analysis and market research to find alternative suppliers ormaterials when needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical mindset with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency. Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. 1 – 3 years of experience in procurement or buying, preferably in the manufacturing or renewable energy sector. Familiarity with materials used in solar panel production is a plus.
