Description We are looking for a meticulous Purchasing/Procurement professional to join our client’s team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a key part in managing procurement activities and ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials and supplies. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with expertise in purchasing and a strong background in the steel manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the sales team to meet or exceed sales and gross profit goals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers while representing the company in the sale of steel, aluminum, and stainless products.
• Accurately process sales orders, ensuring correct product descriptions, codes, quantities, and delivery details.
• Provide competitive pricing quotes using established pricing matrices and coordinate with the sales manager for large or non-stock items.
• Address customer complaints in a thorough and careful manner, documenting issues and obtaining necessary authorizations for returns.
• Monitor and expedite orders, backorders, and delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Assist in creating detailed customer profiles, including purchasing patterns and preferences.
• Actively engage in outbound solicitation calls to increase sales volume and strengthen customer relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of top customers and their purchasing history.
• Coordinate large inquiries and non-stock item orders with the sales manager to ensure proper handling. Requirements
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of steel structures, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with experience in tools such as Epicor or similar solutions.
• Familiarity with accounting functions, accounts payable, and purchasing procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to analyze and interpret pricing matrices and quality assurance standards.
• Attention to detail for accurate order processing and record-keeping.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
