Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Buyer to join them. You will report to the Site General Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee.
To be considered for Buyer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s degree, with preferred experience in a manufacturing environment. Or associate degree with 2 years of buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
As a Buyer, you will:
Execute a range of supply chain management (SCM) tasks, including but not limited to; critical analysis of operational sustainability needs, material planning / purchasing within an ERP system, cost management – price negotiations, supplier relationship management, new supplier selection and development, Long Term Agreement definition.
Develop reliable alternate sources of supply through an effective qualification and competitive bidding processes.
Lead good supplier relations through effective purchase order negotiation, timely vendor payments and appropriate notice of changes in requirements.
Maintain internal records and system data fields for pricing, lead-times, vendor performance data, etc.
Provide cost data for sales proposals.
Be Familiar with technical drawings, material specifications, BOMs, manufacturing routings and secondary operations.
Be Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast paced and changing environment.
Work on continuous improvement projects.
Execute the responsibilities of a Moog employee according to lawful and ethical standards, as referenced in the Moog employee handbook.

Salary Range Transparency:

Johnson City, TN $48,000.00-$60,000.00 Annually
